Sweetest Naomi,
How has another month flown by? You're 10.5 months now. I can hardly believe it. Life with you isn't what I thought it'd be, but I know it's going to keep getting more incredible.
People may think we are foolish to believe you're going to restored to perfection, to the way the Lord really created you, on earth as it is in heaven, but we won't stop believing and petitioning and hoping and praying and praising the Lord for all He has done in your life and all He will do. We will see it, Naomi! You will live it, Naomi!
The days have been long, but the months have flown by. You'll be one next month and I'm having a difficult time thinking about it. I pray and hope you'll be the one year old I know you're supposed to be. Whatever that day holds for us, we will celebrate.
You're sleeping ever so soundly by me now. Your dad is at band practice. I'm wondering if you actually sleep at night or if you just lay contently in your crib all night only to sleep all day. I keep asking the Lord for a more predictable schedule. He hasn't granted me my expectations of that, but I sure hope He does.
I love you, my darling girl. You have taught me not to take a thing for granted. You are strong. You are powerful.
xoxo,
Mommy

Summer Morning Walk
Sleepy girl (you'll probably always be asleep while I write these as that's the only chance I'd have to write :),
This morning after your bottle, I loaded you in your car seat and clicked it into the stroller for a morning walk. You haven't been wanting to nap lately, but I know you always fall asleep on walks, so off we went.
It was such a beautiful morning. It was warm and breezy and full of sunshine. Something about being on this walk with you filled me with such joy and also nostalgia of your great-grandparents' house in Dodge City. You would have loved it there. So much land to roam on and explore. I hope your dad and I can find a place outside of town very soon so you can have that readily available.
Things have not been the easiest since you were born, but I am so grateful for your gentle disposition. It is such a gift to us and to you. You are so sweet and forgiving and are always okay to go new places or do the same things over again. Such traits will do beautiful things for the Kingdom. Jesus has such incredible things for your to discover. I cannot wait to see your story unfold.
Thanks for going on a walk with me this morning. I will treasure it always.
Love you forever,
Momma

Nearly 9 Months
Naomi,
You'll be 9 months in 4 days. How did that happen? You are growing into such a beautiful girl. I could stare at you for hours on end. How did your dad and I get the honor of being your parents? We are so grateful for you.
You are so kind. So forgiving. So gentle. So content. I pray you always hold onto those traits - I have a feeling you will.
You have been progressing rapidly since starting physical therapy. It's been harder for your dad and I to see the progress since we see you every day, but your therapist, Serena, has been so encouraged by how far you've come. She has made comments such as, "Naomi is the fastest progressing kid I've ever worked with, and I've been doing this for over 20 years."
We are anxious for you to get stronger, for you to hold up your head and smile at us. It will come. We know it will.
You continue to amaze us. God at work in you and through you is an incredible thing to witness. 9 months in, and it still humbles me on a daily basis.
We love you to the moon, the stars, and beyond.
xo,
Mom
p.s.- you started eating solids last week. You can put away an avocado like a pro. So proud of you.

To Our Girl
Sweet Naomi Rene,
You are 8 months old today. Where does the time go? Our parents (your grandparents) weren't joking when they said time goes quickly. You are sleeping soundly in your crib right now, tired from the immunizations you got today (2 months late, I promise your dad and I will try to be more on top of things).
Your dad and I started this blog today as a way to document all the miraculous and amazing ways God has moved in and through you and all the ways He will continue to. We pray it is a testament of God's infinite love and power to all who may read these words and know your story.
Next to finding Jesus, you, precious Naomi, are the best thing that has ever happened to us. You are our miracle girl, our pleasant victory, our delightful renewal.
We love you more than words could ever say. You're the sweetest shoogy.
All my love,
Mom
